Dear Friends,
As we anticipate celebrating our Lord’s birth, our prayer is that each of us will experience the love of God in our hearts and homes in new and life-giving ways!
Here in Chachoengsao, Thailand, God is revealing Himself in amazing ways! Every week in the month of November, we saw God transforming lives by giving His free gift of salvation to people who previously didn’t know Him at all! God has moved in the hearts of people in darkness and they have seen His light, and followed Him. Rejoice with us!
About a month ago, God gave the idea to our team to begin meeting outside the home of one of our new believers, in the evening, when more people would be available. We purchased 3 bamboo “benches” (about 3 feet by 6 feet each) and began inviting people to eat with us and practice some English together. At each meeting, the gospel has been presented and every time someone has responded to the invitation to believe in Jesus! Some of these new believers are people we have known for awhile; others are people we were only meeting for the first time! God’s word is amazing!
Now we have the joy (and challenge) of having several new Christians to disciple and teach. Please pray for them, and for Naat and Ozz (Awt), who will be doing most of the teaching. Pray that God will protect and guide these precious ones as they begin to understand the implications of what it means for them to follow Jesus.
Another piece of news is that we recently held our first ever Sunday worship service for our cell churches. We all gathered together (about 70 people in all) in our little rented building in the city and celebrated God’s grace and glory together! It was a great day as Ozz (Awt) led worship, Naat preached, Louise taught the children (over 40 of them) and we helped in whatever ways we could. It was great to see all of our members in one place, rejoicing in God. Our plan is to have one of these combined meetings once a month, alternating between the city and the country cell locations. God is good!
At the moment, two of our children (Lydia and Philip) are here with us. We are thankful that they arrived hours before the airport in Bangkok was closed by protestors. They are helping us teach in the school and clubs and by watching Jason in the evenings so both Bob and Chris can help in the cells and clubs, and Phil has already made one video for us. Jason is really enjoying having them here.
Finally please pray with us about the need for additional funds for the Bethel church plant budget. Our personal support is sufficient, but the project fund is low. If you want to help the project number is C0509, Bethel Church Plant.
God Bless! Bob and Chris Davis
