I once heard this question regarding Jesus' Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), "What is it about the word GO we don't understand?" For North Americans, Holistic church planting among the least reached will, more often than not, mean going to the more spiritually dark areas of our world. While MBMS International will remain engaged in the various mission fields in which we are involved, we are renewing our commitment to church planting. We are calling one another to get involved in holistic church planting among people groups who have had little or no opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus' saving grace.
Mobilization and Media will be helping to mobilize people, financial resources, and prayer. It is a priority for us to initiate mission discussions and provide resources whereby our MB church family can be mobilized to pray, give, and go to the least reached of our world through Short-Term and Long Term mission ministries.
Newly appointed Regional Mobilizers will provide leadership in developing short-term mission teams and programs for local churches, youth, young adults, families, retirees, and pastors. They will also seek to build relationships with MB church pastors, mission leaders, and supporters in order to effectively communicate our mobilization needs.
Missional renewal is a re-occurring need for us as individuals and as churches. May we hear again Jesus' call to "look at the fields, they are ripe unto harvest" (John 4:35) and his call to "GO."
