MBMS International Strategy in Congo |
|
|
MBMS International will respond to the CEFMC leadership vision and work in close partnership with CEFMC approved lay groups and expertise. MBMS International will mentor, share, teach and guide with the goal of enabling new leaders from diverse sectors.
MBMS International will focus on social development projects that are related to the CEFMC and their target areas. The emphasis will be placed on developing effective leadership at all levels. The process will take priority over a successful end product.
MBMS International will act as a bridge maker bringing people groups and local churches together; connecting the grassroots in the west with the grassroots in Congo. Short-term mission projects will be encouraged in order to solidify relationships, pass on specific skills and encourage Congo awareness in western churches.
MBMS International will work with the CEFMC to grow its missionary department and encourage the missionary movement within the church.
MBMS International will encourage the CEFMC to establish a strong relationship with other MB conferences. ICOMB will continue to be an important aspect of this work.
Plan of Action
Social focus: MBMS International’s social focus centers on the areas of healthcare development, education, economic growth programs and peace and reconciliation. Practical actions to meet these goals over the next 3 years involve the following project categories:
1 - CIDA project for social development
2 - Health and Development Fund
3 - Joseph Ventures Inc (JVI)
4 - MIHELDA
5 - Center for Peace Building, Leadership Development and Good Governance (PLG)
Missions focus: MBMS International will work with the CEFMC to develop its missions ministry through the CEFMC missions department (including sending of missionaries, special ministry projects, etc.) and the University Centre of Missiology
Inter-conference Relations
Direct involvement in CEFMC administration or projects directly aimed at the church itself (evangelism, missiology, pastor training, special outreach programs) will be transferred slowly to ICOMB. Inter-conference relationships will be promoted by MBMS International and project management at this level will be at the request of ICOMB.
MBMS International will engage Murray and Faith Nickel as the “Congo Project Coordinator” to implement the action plan and monitor progress. Indicators of success will be measured by the following parameters:
- Increased and improved CEFMC missionary movement
- Increased CEFMC membership
- Increased CEFMC church plants
- Well outlined ministry to unreached areas established.
