For several months Laurence Hiebert, MBMSI missionary in Toyota City, Japan, has been attending a local clinic for neck and back treatments. While receiving a treatment just weeks before Christmas, Laurence’s doctor asked him if he had any plans for the upcoming Christmas season. Laurence was stunned that he asked about this Christian holiday. This man had never been to church in his life. In a country of over 125 million people, less than 1% of the population professes faith in Christ. Dominant religions in Japan are Buddhism and Shinto.
