Nitra Plesko experienced the wild side of the spiritual realm that she never knew existed! While spending summer 2008 trekking through Central Asia sharing the love of Christ with nomadic people, she saw just how much the spiritual realm and the elements of nature are connected. There were times in their journey when the team of four could see evidence of the spiritual through the dark clouds and the rain. At one point God even stopped them with hail.

They are the throwaways of Thai society. The rejected and despised. They are HIV positive orphans, and by the world’s standards they should have no hope. But God has great compassion on the overlooked and abandoned, and He is using HIV infected orphans in Central Thailand to build up a movement of new believers.

Adam Nash had a great experience trekking through Central Asia with the Nomad Team in summer 2007. He was able to connect with some families and see God move in amazing ways as he stepped out in obedience – sometimes with fear – and watched as God came through in thos risk moments. Those were just a few of the very real thoughts that were brewing in his mind as he considered another opportunity to revisit Central Asia.

God is transforming lives in Massama, Portugal. Marjorie Ekk, missionary with MBMS International, has been teaching Sunday school to children for most of her life. In the past three years she has led classes in Portugal’s new church plant in Massama, west of Lisbon. Many of the children have come and gone, but three children in particular are consistently present Sunday mornings.

MBMS International’s 2008 summer ACTION: Winnipeg program sent a team of two girls, Cindy Elias and Jessica Reeve, to Toyota City, Japan to minister beside MBMSI missionaries Laurence and Leona Hiebert for six weeks. While in Japan they exercised their teaching skills as they administered English as a Second Language courses to eager Japanese students.
