Vision for Mission - April 2006
Several weeks ago I joined Samir, our Arabic evangelist, in the mountains of North Africa where we visited with a number of house churches and recent Believers.  The vibrant worship, faith filled prayers and loving fellowship all had the fragrance of a New Testament church.  Many have been reached through the satellite video programs which are now connecting these mountain communities with the rest of the world.  One elderly man who I met was in his 80's.  His recent conversion and that of his 11 family members was an indication of the power of God to bring transformation!

Vision for Mission - March 2006
Several years ago my wife Marjorie and I had the privilege of attending a worship service at one of our MB churches in Kinshasa. The worship service was a vibrant collage of colors, sounds and movement. Three choirs served at various points in the service and as each was singing, congregants came forward with thank offerings that they placed in baskets in front of the podium. Vision for Mission – February 2006

A staff member burst into my office last week with a big smile on her face waving a piece of paper.  “What’s this?” I asked.  “The pledge and donation report for the Griffieons”, she replied.  All their support is in and they are cleared for Thailand.  Wow.  The last year has been quite an adventure for Rob and Judy Griffieon as they joined our first “Operation Rebuilding Lives” tsunami response team to Thailand a year ago and sensed a clear call to return long term and help plant local churches in South Thailand.

Vision For Mission - January 2006
Walking through the foggy streets of New Delhi one cold evening in January, we passed small groups of people huddled around open fires for warmth. In the darkness and fog, I nearly tripped over people wrapped in blankets and lying on the sidewalks for the night. It was surreal; like a dream. The sheer immensity of that crowded city had overwhelmed me during the day, and now its shroud of darkness and desperation was enveloping me at night.

Vision for Mission - December 2005
I was speaking at a mission conference last weekend and I asked the audience, "How many of you have shared the gospel in the last month?"  About 5% put their hands up.  I then asked, "How many of you have led someone to Christ in this past year?"  Again about 5% put their hands up. Then I asked, "How many of your could get excited about spending 10 days alongside a national believer in places like India and Ukraine where people will enter the Kingdom every single day? Better yet you will be helping to plant an MB church in that community." A lot of hands went up. "Is that worth $2500 to you?"  Most hands stayed up. I then asked the pastor, "How many folks in this church would you like to see equipped to share their faith?" Everyone! Then, what's the strategy to get there?
