Holistic Church Planting

At MBMS International we desire for Jesus to be at the center of all we do, which is why we believe so strongly in church planting that brings transformation to the whole person as well as their surrounding community. When Jesus ministered to his culture, he didn't just preach. He tended to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health of his children and their communities as a whole. This is what holistic church planting is all about.

Church Services and Bible Burners

Mission exists because worship doesn’t. These words by John Piper are burned into my heart. MBMSI exists to see lives transformed in mission. When people find Jesus they are transformed and enter into a lifestyle of worship, honouring God with their lives. We desire to see people enter into this life changing, transformational relationship with Jesus Christ. We desire to see worship on every corner of each village, town and region of the world.

Testimony of Phanukorn Nontasak (Keng)

My name is Phanukorn Nontasak. Everyone calls me Keng. I am now 23 years old. I have believed in God since I was 19 years old. I was born into a Buddhist family as are most Thai people. Before, I didn’t have any knowledge about God and I had never thought that I would be a Christian. One day, I saw some news on TV about Thai Christians who had a meeting together. I used to think bad about them, and blame them in my heart… “why do Thai people change to be Christian?” I thought Christianity was for foreigners and that maybe all Thai people who changed to be Christians wanted to look like they were part of “high society,” wanted to speak English, and wanted to have a luxurious life like foreigners. I didn’t understand about God and His stories and thought most Thai people must think the same way I thought.

The Church is a People

Do you remember this song? You may have learned it in Sunday school as I did. The church is not a building, the church is not a steeple, the church is not a resting place, the church is a people. I’ll never forget that phrase, my first picture as a young child of church. MBMS International also has a picture of church and believes that it really is the Hope of the world, the chosen vessel to share Jesus with those who have not yet heard the Good News. That’s why we have chosen to send our missionaries “to the ends of the earth” in church planting teams.

Celebration at MBMSI

I love parties. The countdown to my birthday begins the day after I celebrate, much to the dismay of my husband and family. Christmas music is already spilling out of my shared office at the end of the hall, much to the amusement of certain co-workers who enjoy reminding me that Christmas isn’t until December. Somehow I manage to find something to celebrate every month.

Risk Taking Obedience

MBMSI has risk built into its DNA. Our Leader, Jesus Christ, has entrusted us with a mission that is greater than any other and risk-taking obedience is foundational. In fact, it’s one of our core values.

Our team is unified by our individual affirmations to the gentle whisper of Jesus. “Follow me”. With our whole hearts, we have responded, “yes”. When Jesus gave us the Great Commission “Go into all the world and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19), He asked for more than our hearts. He asked for our lives. We emphatically believe this is the mission worth living for, the Leader worth risking for.
