As part of the newly formed long term church planting team, Operation Second Wave, Greg, Becky and their four children had plans to move to Thailand in two weeks. Then, suddenly, their youngest son, Silas became ill. Results from the blood work revealed all the signs of Type I diabetes.

Gai and Gaye-oGai and Gaye-o first heard about the power of God when Gai was dying in the hospital with AIDS. A Christian nurse prayed for him and he immediately felt better. Because of his ill health, he had not been able to work for three years. His family often had no money for food and their poor squatter’s house left them cold and wet from the rain. But after Gai and Gaye-o gave their lives to Christ, Gai’s health improved so dramatically that he was released from the hospital. He prayed for work and God answered his prayer immediately. For the first time in three years he was able to provide for his family.

WickiWhen I first met Wicki, last June, she was a distraught, frightened and angry woman! Loan sharks were calling on her everyday, threatening to hurt her if she did not pay back her debt. Deep down, our church felt as overwhelmed and afraid as she did. But, as Wicki, her son (age 12) and daughter (age 18) opened their hearts to Christ’s love and put their faith in Jesus, we began to slowly see God remove each “Goliath” she faced. A huge debt, an abusive, alcoholic husband and extreme poverty were just a few.

Zebulun Jacob (Mohammed Ehtisham Khan), a Muslim background believer, grew up in a highly dedicated Muslim family. His father’s desire was that he become a mullah. For 14 years he studied the Koran in order to graduate as a Muslim leader. Of his class of 175, only 30 graduated. Due to the extreme academic rigor and strict discipline, most students fled from the school. Jacob became a Muslim missionary to Hindus in Nepal. There, serving as a mullah, he became the president of the Nepalese Muslim community.

Stories of Transformation: Gunther Print E-mail

Our son, then in grade two, brought his friend Gunther to Sunday school. Soon the parents began to come as well, though initially to check on their son. They were impressed, continued to come and soon were saved and baptized. In his teen years Gunther left the church and landed in the drug scene. Around this time, Gunther’s father died. Gunther appeared at the funeral, unkempt and in ragged cloths, a shame to the family.

Some of our team members just returned from India where they were witness to some amazing testimonies. John* currently a youth leader in a Northern village, spent five years working in Africa. He went to Africa with the goal to get away from his village in India and from God. When he tried to cross a border boundary, he was imprisoned because he had lost some of his documents.
