CBC television recently ran a story in follow up to the tsunami rebuilding work in Southern Thailand - an area where one of our church planting teams, the Operation Second Wave (O2W) team, has been working since 2006. Last November I hired a break dancing teacher for our Abundant Life
Home boys. His name is "Bank" and he is 18 years old. He loves our boys
and recommitted his life to Christ at Christmas. He had fallen away

Friday, July 20, Nate Toews was killed in a car accident near Calgary when a semi-trailer lost control and hit his vehicle. In the car were Nate, his wife Rosanna, Nate’s brother Doug, and Doug’s wife Elissa. Nate passed away at the scene. Rosanna is fine physically and is back home in Abbotsford. Doug is fine physically. Elissa was eight months pregnant and the doctors performed an emergency caesarian. Thankfully, the baby is doing fine. Elissa will probably be in the hospital for a few weeks with back injuries.
Nate’s funeral will be held at South Abbotsford Church, Friday, July 27, at 11:00am.

Ever wondered what the voice of God really sounds like? Recently, the
theme around our churches and orphanage seems to be that God is
choosing to speak in an audible voice! While it has been fun to teach
on the voice and will of God with our new believers, it is always
better when the REAL DEAL shows up! Here are three stories from the
lives of new believers in our churches:

Living with the God of Impossibilities - Walking on Water with Jesus - Amber & Amanda Griffioen
What an honor it has been for us to have Jesus call us out of our boat of comfort and security to walk towards Him on the waters of faith and life. Lately, God has been teaching us that to Him there is no difference between possible and impossible, everything is just possible for Him. WOW, what a great God we serve. The process of stepping and letting go of the boat has taught us how to depend more on our all-powerful God.
