God’s merciful goodness to us…
This month the wall was completed, friends of ours stayed with us for a week before moving to Canada, and my literacy classes at Maranatha school finished.

The completed wall is just one more step that symbolizes our putting down roots in preparation to live in N’dorola. Thank you for praying as we figured out how to establish good relationships with our neighbors. The culture is so different here and we learn as we go and as we make mistakes. There isn’t anyone here to tell us “this is how it is here”. So thank you again for praying.

Dramane and Dieneba are friends who have had the dream of many Burkinabe come true. They found a job in Canada. After three years of trying they were able to acquire the visa they needed to enter Canada. We had the joy of having them live with us their last week in the country. We tried to prepare them for everything from what to expect on the airplane to proper etiquette while eating. It was interesting to see them go through what we went through. They packed up all their belongings, selling most of it, and said goodbye to their family and friends to enter a country where everything will be different. You can pray for them as they learn our language and culture.

I was thrilled to see the progress my students have made at Maranatha in only 6 months. They started out not being able to read anything. For their final exam I had them read a portion of the Bible. These women will be future leaders in their church as a pastor’s wife but they still have 2 more years of schooling. Please pray that God will show me what I should now be involved with this summer.
