MBMSI APPOINTS NEW REGIONAL MOBILIZER FOR THE PACIFIC DISTRICT
For some time MBMS International has been seeking the Lord's direction in discerning who would best serve as our Regional Mobilizer in the Pacific District Conference. We are very grateful the Lord has provided. Galen Wiest has accepted our offer and will begin his ministry in the PDC August 20, 2007. Galen and Linda bring to this role the values, experience and commitment of serving in short-term and long term missions with MBMS International in South America. Along with those qualifications Galen and Linda have also served in pastoral work for the past 12 years at Neighborhood church in Visalia, CA.
We are pleased the Lord has prepared the Wiests' to be instrumental in raising up a new generation of shorter term and longer term missionaries from among our MB Churches in the Pacific District Conference.

Teams are returning from India, Peru, Thailand, Mexico and North Africa. Pray that they would be able to deeply process everything they have learned and experienced during their cross cultural service. Pray also that they would clearly sense where God is directing them next.

SAYING GOOD BYE...
Annie E. (Dyck) Buhler passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2007, after a short battle with cancer. Annie served as an MBMSI missionary to Colombia, South Texas and Panama for more than 25 years. Throughout her life, Annie was a committed Christian leader, a loving friend and family member and above all, a faithful follower of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Arnold Prieb passed away peacefully on May 4, 2007. He was born in Buhler, Kansas on February 6, 1924 and moved to Fresno in 1980 after spending 30 years serving as a Mennonite Brethren missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. Upon his return to the United States in 1980, he served as Associate Pastor at the Bethany Mennonite Brethren Church for 12 years.
Floyd Born of Newton, KS passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007. Floyd and his wife Bertha, along with their four children served in leadership/Bible training and administration in Brazil from 1965-74. Floyd is remembered for his example to family and community, his dedication to the church, and his commitment to world mission.
"All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."

YOUNG PEOPLE CHOOSE JESUS ON YOUTH RETREAT IN MEXICO!
By Jen Schmidt, part of the Matthew Team serving in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The youth retreat weekend was full and fun! We had some youth along that don't generally attend church or even youth events - but are friends or contacts that we have.
God was really moving and at the end of retreat, we spent some time together sharing and reflecting what God had been doing in our lives. We asked how many people had for the first time made a commitment to follow Jesus with their lives. Five of the youth stood up!
It was so exciting to see these youth hungry and thirsty for God - to know and understand Him and to make a decision to follow Him. Please pray for these five youth who have made commitments.
