Hello everyone,
I would like to share a couple events with you, a note to let you all know the Divine is always present, and even more than just present He is always very aware and at work in the lives of His creation.
Last week Jason was the recipient of a hoard of day and night mosquito bites. This week Jason came down with a sudden high fever, severe headache and nausea/vomiting. All on the list for dengue fever (the new scare in addition to Malaria) After 4 days we took him in for blood testing. Thankfully it was not Dengue but strep throat, only early enough to not have the sore throat. So he is on antibiotic and now recovering. Jason is still a tasty dish for mosquitoes. This does put him at higher risk for potential bug borne illness.
The other incident, was Phil was his on his bike riding to the language center and was hit by a motorcyclist. He was thrown forward over the front and landed rather abruptly on the ground. We are so glad to report that neither of the other two riders, or Phil was seriously injured. Minor scrapes and some deep bruising, no head impact at all. Also the other driver was really good about the whole thing and that in itself was something of a blessing. A lot of times the poorer of the 2 will try to get a large some of money off the better off driver! Sound familiar? I guess the human heart is the same wherever you live.
After a doctor visit Phil went onto a weekend camp retreat and had a great time! It was a very multicultural event, at least 7 or more countries were represented.
On Monday as Jason and I stayed home due to the strep, Phil and Bob went into Bangkok to meet up with a friend, shop and have the world's best burgers (I am told). On their return home, the bus had an accident, yet again with a motorcyclist, she did not fare as well, but no one else was injured. (She was not an ICU case! thank goodness)
So we are ever mindful of the goodness of God not only to ourselves but also to His creation who do not yet know Him. By the way there were two other accidents involving friends, here this same weekend, again no lives lost.
Thailand is a beautiful place with so many beautiful people, but just as in England, America or wherever any people are there is much loneliness and despair in many of those faces.
That is why we do what we do, seek to bring the love of God to those who do not yet know the Lord and His goodness to all mankind.
Thank you to those of you who keep us in prayer and remember us. We'd love to hear from you any time. We now have skype, if that works for anyone. Again, if you feel you do not wish to receive letters just drop a line a let me know. Thanks, for your love and interest, and friendship.
Love and In His service
Christina and all.
