Dear praying friend,
We have made a good adjustment to life and ministry in Japan! Thanks so much for praying. We have some urgent prayer requests for the next week.
First of all, continue to pray for the ministry of the Action Team sent by MBMS International to Japan for 4 weeks of ministry. They were with us for several days of orientation and training last month then went to 3 other MB churches for ministry. This week they return to us to serve with us. Pray for their health (some have had colds and even bronchitis), protection, and effective ministry.
Secondly, pray for our church. Several months ago, while we were still in Canada the dates for our Children’s Day Camps, etc. at which the team would serve were set. Regrettably, these dates do not work for the average Japanese and we have very few people indicating they will attend. We will meet on Sunday afternoon to pray and discuss what God would have us do. We will be asking God to show us what He has in mind. So pray that our church will discern God’s will for this week.
Thirdly, pray for the salvation of those who attend special events from August 6-12. We are believing that God will touch people’s lives, even if the numbers are considerably below our expectations. Please pray that God’s Spirit will move and touch each person who comes and that we will have the joy of helping people find Christ this week!
May God continue to strengthen and encourage you in your place of ministry as well!
Sincerely in Christ,
Laurence and Leona Hiebert
