south_africa.jpg"One morning I brought my guitar to the church and played a couple of songs "free style" as one of the church members played drums with me. It was absolutely beautiful praising the Lord together. After that they asked me to learn a ZULU song and taught me one on the spot. I couldn't understand the words except Alleluia. How extraordinary to share the word that means "Praise the Lord"! ~Bryan Feil, participant

This summer's trip has been one of the most transformational adventures I have ever undertaken... I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing in places out of my context.

We worked with an MB Church in the south beach area of Durban. We taught English lessons, built roofs, played with children, sang hours of worship songs, painted, and distributed food, just to name a few activities. Most importantly, we made friendships and spent amazing time with the people of Durban.

Our team time was amazing. I can't articulate how much this team clicked. We were able to encourage, challenge, and fully love each other to the point of becoming one of the best "churches" I've ever been a part of. We met each night to process, worship, talk, pray, and read the book of Acts.

I've returned to the US with new eyes. I have a new way of looking at all people as children of God, a new level of responsibility to be a voice for the muffled, and a new way of looking at myself as God's creation. This trip solidified some things in me, sparked others, and stoked the fire already burning. I pray it continues doing so and that the flames reach upward and outward as far as they can. ~ Jessica Mast, participant

Our team really enjoyed playing soccer and Frisbee with people from the MB church. There would always be random people coming and joining our game. One day, a man named Bito joined us and later that night came to church with us. He said that he did not have a church in Durban until now! We were happy to welcome him and build relationship with him! He praised God for our encounter and so do we! ~ Laura Pound, participant

Nsulunka Baudouin, MBMSI missionary from the DR Congo, was host to the ACTION team serving in Durban, South Africa. This team was made up of six Fresno Pacific University students who were challenged primarily with the economic needs of the community. This team served youth and built a youth building for the church. Each of the team members was able to serve God in their own unique way.
