O2W -ALL IN PHUKET NOW After several months of praying and planning, all O2W team-members(the Ouellette and Klassen families, Cynthia Friesen and ourdaughters, Amber & Amanda), have now relocated to Phuket. The Klassenfamily (Kevin & Karlene, Tyler, Andrew and Jesse) were the last toarrive, making it here safely on the same weekend as the tragicOne-Two-Go airline crash, in which 90 people died. We praise God forsafety in travel for our team but our hearts cry out for thoseaffected by the crash.Every day that we are here, we're reminded of God's grace and also ofhis love for Phuket. Since we've been here, we've experienced theplane crash, another tsunami scare (with an 8.4 earthquake off ofSumatra), and Phuket's crazy traffic. Just today, I (Rob) was driving with Kevin when we witnessed yetanother motorcycle crash. Two women on board the bike (who fell overwhen they were cut off). Thought they were not badly injured, itserved to remind us again of constant our need for God's protection. It also left us saying, "we know Jesus and his gift of salvation, butwhat hope do these people have if they die without Jesus?" MEANWHILE, LANGUAGE LEARNING MUST GO ON! Meet Khun Ning, Khun Ooy, and Khun Oan. These three Thai Christiansare God's provision for our language needs here in Phuket. For the past month, we have re-engaged language learning in a big way.We even arranged for two examiners to come down from Lopburi LearningCentre to check our progress. It doesn't take long to be reminded howessential learning Thai is for us; especially since we want to reachthese beautiful lost people in their own heart language. Otherwise, our home is buzzing with visitors from the neighbourhood, our team-mates, and our language helpers. We believe that the HolySpirit is guiding us in knowing how to best reach out to Phuket. MostSaturdays, we join in with the 6AM prayer meeting on Rang Hill withother believers from THE HOUSE OF THE LORD CHURCH.On the Road Again! Through Khun Ning's connections in Phuket, God made it possible for usto buy a decent "made in Thailand" 2001 Ford Ranger (on diesel).Thank you for praying for this need. Since it is a 4x4 with airconditioning (even in the back), this truck has much potential forbeing a good people-hauler, wherever God sends us. The price came inat under what we were praying for (PTL). Now that we are mobileagain, we wonder how we've managed the past 18 months without avehicle. We are especially grateful, since we've also discovered thatthe public transportation system in Phuket leaves much to be desired. OTHER GREAT WAYS TO GET AROUND IN PHUKET AH yes, we have come to realize the effects of sitting and eating riceevery day ... :-). Because we want to do our best to be healthy inevery way, for nearly a month now, Amanda and I (Rob) have been ridingour bikes over challenging hills and along the coastline of Phuket(we've even joined a bike group). Judy and Amber have also been veryactive, jogging and praying everyday in our "muubaan." Please prayalong with us that, along with the rest of our team, we will be ingood shape to make a lasting impact in Phuket and area, for God'sglory!
