Happenings in N’dorola

Drissa: Bergen’s night Guard
As a team in N’dorola, we have a dream of seeing a few people come to know Jesus through hearing the word of God and then in their enthusiasm turn around and tell their family and friends.  This is exactly what is happening in N’dorola right now.

Last month we had the joy of hearing how Drissa, (the Bergen’s night guard) had become a Christian.  Carol had spent countless hours reading the Jula Bible with him last spring.  Phil is now taking tapes of Scripture in Nanerige to Drissa’s house.  As they are going over Scripture others in the courtyard are able to listen as well.  We are praying that seeds will be planted in Drissa’s wife and children as they listen.

Drissa has also started bringing the tapes to his older brother’s yard.  The older men who were there were very interested in hearing God’s word in Nanerige and asked to continue listening after harvest is finished.  That way they will be more attentive and won’t be nodding off to sleep.

Please pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work among the Nanerige and that many will come to know Him.

Prayer Requests
- We had the privilege of visiting with John Mark (Phil and Carol’s son) as he passed through Paris to work with his parents for 5 months.  Pray that his time in Burkina will be profitable for getting projects done and spending time with his parents.
- Madu is a pastor from another village who is working with us in N’dorola to help with evangelism.  Phil tells us that he is doing a wonderful job of explaining Scripture to people so that they understand it better.  He has also helped start church services in Nanerige in the Bergen’s courtyard.  Pray that God will continue to use him in a powerful way.

This past month God has blessed us with being able to visit friends:  Russ and Marg Speiser are MBMSI missionaries who work just north of Paris. Paul and Lois Theissen work in Burkina.  They are taking some theology courses in a school just
west of Paris.  It was very refreshing to visit with them.
We have found a friendly church to attend while we are studying but we are still looking forward to making some french speaking friends.
