Getting into the groove
For the last few weeks we have entered into a long-awaited routine of language study. It feels good to study more consistently, though we are also reminded of how much we have yet to learn! We have also had a chance to revisit some of our goals as a family and as a team. We were very encouraged and challenged by a conversation with the kids around the dinner table the other night. What goals do we have for the coming months? Caleb: "To see a Thai person follow Jesus through our family."  Emma: "To pray for our neighbors." Luke: "To tell Thai people about Jesus."  Our kids have a pretty clear picture of what God has called us to! We are praying together that He would lead us to the people that He wants us to share with, and that we would be obedient to share, and then faithful to walk alongside these people and get them connected to a Thai body of believers. When life starts to feel too complicated, we just need to talk with our kids!

Home/School
We are thrilled to have Jason and Traci Johnston and their kids Riley and Krina with us here in Phuket. Traci has taken over the teaching of the primary class, and that now takes place in their home each morning. Jason has taken on the responsibility of teaching the intermediate class, which meets to study each morning at the Klassen's house. We are enjoying getting to know the Johnstons and are sooooo grateful to God for providing them for us at this time. They have sacrificed much to come here to serve in this way, and on top of that, they are financing the bulk of their expenses here. We would invite you to pray that God will provide their needs over the next 6 months, and if God calls you to get involved - their project code at MBMSI is CO583.

A special request for prayer
This past Tuesday afternoon, Jason was in a minor car accident with a motorcyclist here in Phuket. No one was injured significantly, for which we are thankful. There are, however, other complications which we would ask you to pray about. The Norwegian husband of the motorcyclist was very angry about the accident, and despite the fact that Jason's insurance covers all damages, is demanding a large sum of money from Jason. He is phoning Jason continually and is making violent threats. Please pray for Jason and Traci's safety, and that God would intervene. We are ALSO praying for Patrick, the angry husband, and his wife, that they would encounter God through this situation. God is faithfully showing us Scriptures to remind us that He is our strength, our shield, God with us, mighty to save.

A Festival this Past Weekend
Loy Kratong is perhaps one of the most beautiful festivals we have seen so far in Thailand. Once the sun sets, individuals, friends, couples and families flock to the banks of rivers, canals, lakes, etc to set afloat small banana leaf boats. Each "boat" has a lit candle, a few incense sticks and some coins tucked under the flowers. Many people will pray to the river goddess for forgiveness or to Buddha to wash away their sins of the past year, while others just hope for good luck as they place their kratongs in the water and watch them float away. Its beautiful to watch... but our hearts long to share of the true, deep, and lasting forgiveness from the one true God, who knows us completely, and still loves us.

Thank you for your prayers for us and for Thailand,
