Dear praying friend,
Brandon arrived safely on Saturday night. It is great to have him here!
Heart Surgery Update
Chiaki’s mother has returned home and is recuperating there. Her recovery is expected to take about one year. Continue to pray that through this Chiaki’s whole family will come to Christ.
Updates on Christmas Events so far!
Dec. 15: Children’s Christmas. Everything went very well! (Except the kids were kind of rowdy during the Bible Story time)We had 60 kids! And just over 40 adults with about one-half being non-Christian parents! Thanks for praying. Please pray that some will begin attending SS and church and that the others will attend future events.
Dec. 16am: We had 50 people in church. It has been a while since that has happened on a “non-special” Sunday. Brandon and Mr. Kisuna (transferred to Thailand for 4 years) were home with us!
Dec. 16pm: Christmas Dinner Party: We used both our kitchen and the one at church to prepare two large turkeys, 4 hams, lots of mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, 4 types of green salads, rice, several kinds of rolls/breads, cranberry sauce, drinks, desserts, etc. All 51 of us had lots to eat! Some non-Christian families attended and several non-Christian husbands of our church people attended! Please pray for the non-believers salvation. After the meal we sang carols, I gave a talk and we played bingo with lots of prizes! Hisayo, who came to Christ and was baptized several years ago but has turned away from the Lord attended with her husband – newly married last month.
Upcoming Events
Please pray for a powerful moving of God’s Spirit in and through each of us who serve and in the lives of those who attend. We are trusting the Lord to lead people to Himself for restoration, healing, and salvation.
Dec. 22pm: Christmas Concert. We have two Christian marimba musicians coming. Ask the Lord to send us a full house of people and to use the musicians’ testimonies to lead people to Jesus.
Dec. 23am: Christmas Worship Service: We will have special music and a potluck meal and fellowship time in the afternoon. We ask you to pray that God will draw near to us His people and bless us as He knows best as we celebrate the greatest gift of all time!
Dec. 24pm. Candle Light Service: A short program of readings and carol singing will be followed by eating Japanese Christmas cakes. May the mood touch many and cause them to long for more of Jesus in their lives.
