ACTION:Winnipeg participants are responsible to cover the cost of their own transportation to, from and during the program. These costs are above your Ministry Support costs. and include: transportation, passports, vaccinations, travel health insurance and VISAs.

*You are welcome to raise funds to cover your transportation costs to and from the program. If accepted to the program, more information will be provided.
Travel to Orientation :
Arrival: Monday, June 30, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Location: Seeds Church - Altona, Manitoba - see map
- Transportation: Participants are required to arrange their own transportation to ACTION:Winnipeg. This cost is above your Ministry Support
cost. Participants travelling by plane may make shuttle arrangements
with us prior to ACTION:Winnipeg. We recommend that you arrive at the Winnipeg International Airport (YWG) by 2:00pm on June 30, 2008. *Before
booking any transportation, please contact the Central Canada Office and confirm your travel arrangements.
- Passport: You must have a passport valid until February 16, 2009. Click the appropriate link below for more information about passports:
Travel to your Ministry Assignments :
Departure from Winnipeg: Tuesday, July 8, 2008
Return to Winnipeg: Monday, August 11, 2008
Location: Varies; Based on Ministry Assignment
- Transportation: MBMSI will arrange your
transportation for during the program. We will book your
international flights. You will be responsible to cover these costs
and MBMSI will inform you of the costs approximately one month before the program
start date. Costs will vary depending on your Ministry Assignment country. These costs will be above your Ministry Support costs.
- Vaccinations: Depending on your Ministry Assignment ,
you will need certain vaccinations and immunizations. Your local
Travel Health Clinic will be able to advise you on what is recommended
for your assignment country. Click the appropriate link below to

- Travel Health Insurance:
You are responsible for your medical costs during ACTION:Winnipeg and
will need Travel Health Insurance. If you have a personal health plan,
you may already have Travel Health Insurance. If not, you can obtain
it through CAA or AAA. A copy of your travel health insurance must be provded to MBMSI prior to departure on your Ministry Assignment.
- VISA Information: Participants of the DR Congo team are required to have a tourist visa in order to gain entry to the country. More information will be provided by the Central Canada Office. Single entry tourist visas to DR Congo for the 5 week period will cost $210 CAD. This fee is included in your $2300 Ministry Support.

Departure: Saturday, August 16, 2008

- Transportation: Participants are required to arrange their own transportation from ACTION:Winnipeg. This cost is above your Ministry Support cost. Participants are welcome to leave any time on Saturday, August 16,
2008. After breakfast, there are no scheduled activities for the day. *Before booking any transportation, please contact the Central Canada Office and confirm your travel arrangements.
Additional Notes:
- MBMSI is only responsible for participants during the
actual program, June 30 – August 16, 2008. If a participant arrives earlier or plans to
stay later than the specified program dates, they will have to make their own arrangements for food, lodging, and travel.
