New Beginnings
New Year's Eve Blaine and I reflected on all that had happened to us this past year, all the places we've lived, the people we've met, and the new things we've learned. God has been so good in taking care of us. Our Christmas was yet another example of that.
The Solomiac family opened their home to the Thiessen family and us. (They live in a small hamlet close to the German border.) We had a wonderful time celebrating Christ's birth with these families. We joined them with their family traditions of singing carols in German and French. (I found reading the German a bit difficult ☺) We shared in creating Christmas stockings filled with wonderful little things. We had the opportunity to eat wonderful food such as foie gras*, mutton, and seafood. You have to ask Blaine how he was able to eat the raw oyster. It was only the fear of offending his host that he was able to swallow it after many tries. We were also able to spend a cold afternoon in
