Dear Friends!
As many of you know we have been on MINA (Ministry in North America) since the beginning of Dec. It has been a busy but very meaningful two months. Dec. was filled with celebrations of my dad’s 90th birthday, catching up with family and friends, having time for our children who live here and some ministry in groups and churches.
We started the New Year by flying out to Abbotsford, BC to meet with our mission staff at Mennonite Brethren Mission and Service International. This was a very rewarding time and we sensed such a heart for the work that is going on in so many different countries. God has given us wonderful leaders in our mission.
Just days after arriving back from Abbotsford we headed out to Winnipeg to visit our churches there. We saw the ups and downs that churches and individuals experience in their daily working with the situations that come upon them. As our song in our Power Point points out; in our life here on earth we are continually in tension between “earth and heaven.” God blesses us with so many wonderful “God things” and we are so thankful. But we are also constantly aware of the pain, the sin and the sadness that is present is so many lives around us and also in our own lives. Jesus died on that cross that bridges the gap between heaven and earth. What hope and what comfort in the midst of the struggles.
In a few days we are heading to Montana, USA to visit our churches and friends there.
Pray for safe travel. We already experienced a winter storm and travel in cold, cold Saskatchewan.
Pray for wisdom as we speak in church services, evening supper celebrations, a Christian high school, Awana club and a Valentines Banquet.
Praise God for the physical health that we are experiencing now. We went through the colds and flues during out time in Winnipeg.
Praise God with us for our home away from home, here in Saskatoon. It is such a blessing to have a place to come to after being gone for days or weeks. This house swap is working great!
Pray with us as we continue to develop a team for our prayer and financial support. We will give more details of our financial situation in our next month report. God will provide! We want to say a big thank you for each individual and church that has already pledged to be a part of this team.
Blessings to each of you and may God keep you in His care.
Richard and Hazel
