Sawadii Kha! My name is Khun Amphan.( Woman in light
blue on the left.) I am 47 years old. A little over a year ago my husband and I became very sick. We went to the hospital and
discovered that we both had AIDS. Shortly after we were
diagnosed, my husband became very ill and died. I felt very
sad and without hope. I didn’t want to live in this world
anymore. I began to take street drugs in order to
kill myself.
I took every drug I could buy until I became very sick. My
cousin found me at home and took me to the hospital. While I
was in the hospital, I wouldn’t let the doctors help me. I
refused to take the medicine they gave me.
One day a nurse came to visit me. She told me the story
of Jesus. She said that God loved me and had power to
help me. Before she left, she prayed for me and asked
God to heal my heart and body. After she left, I began to
feel better. Steadily, my health improved. I left the
hospital and went home.
A short time later, I went to a
seminar where I began to learn how to take care of my
disease. At the seminar, the nurse shared the Gospel with
me. That day, I gave my life to Jesus Christ because I
knew that God had given me the will to live again.
I didn’t know how to live like a Christian until this past
Christmas. Some ladies from the Bethel Church phoned
me and invited me to a Christmas party. They gave me a
beautiful blanket for a present. Then they invited me to
come and study the Bible with them. Once I started
going to church, they noticed that my eyes were not
very good. I really enjoy reading but I couldn’t read my
Bible because I couldn’t afford a pair of glasses. One
day someone at church gave me some money and said, “Go buy some eye glasses so that you can
read the best book in the whole world!” Today, I have some nice eyeglasses and I can read my
Bible! Everything in my life has changed since I put my faith in Christ. My physical health gets
better all the time. I know that God loves
me. I thank God for all that he has done
for me.
