Vision for Mission - December 2005
I was speaking at a mission conference last weekend and I asked the audience, "How many of you have shared the gospel in the last month?"  About 5% put their hands up.  I then asked, "How many of you have led someone to Christ in this past year?"  Again about 5% put their hands up. Then I asked, "How many of your could get excited about spending 10 days alongside a national believer in places like India and Ukraine where people will enter the Kingdom every single day? Better yet you will be helping to plant an MB church in that community." A lot of hands went up. "Is that worth $2500 to you?"  Most hands stayed up. I then asked the pastor, "How many folks in this church would you like to see equipped to share their faith?" Everyone! Then, what's the strategy to get there?
Every year we take up to 1000 people on short term mission assignments focused on sharing the gospel through word and deed and assisting new MB churches being formed in communities around the world.  Some pastors wonder how to "wake up their congregation" so that local and global mission becomes personal.  I can't think of a better way than joining us for a short-term assignment focused on making mission real for people.

(Check out our DMI ministry at www.dminternational.org  for some great short term assignments or call the office in your region at 1-888-866-6267 to get more information.)

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS
-A great mission consultation in Bogota, Colombia in November with all Latin American missionaries, conference partners and MBMSI program staff brought new vision, team unity and strength to our work together in the region.
-The eight regional mission celebrations in cities across North America this fall brought the MB family together to hear mission stories from the frontlines, share some great music and meet the MBMS International staff team.
-Three families have now applied to join the new South Thailand church planting team in the tsunami rebuilding area.
-The TREK teams serving in Eastern Germany, Thailand and Portugal and individuals serving in Burkina Faso, Costa Rica and Panama are seeing lots of open doors, favor and ministry opportunities!

ITEMS FOR PRAYER
-The three missionary families on the Delhi team have found homes in their ministry community. Pray that they will have opportunities to connect with their neighbors.
-Christmas is a special opportunity for many missionaries to do outreach programs in their communities. Pray that many will come and respond to the message of hope in our Messiah.
-Pray for the discipleship of newly won souls following the ministry of short term teams like the DMI campaign which took place in Durban, South Africa.
