Thanks for stopping in!

As the Western Canada team, our mission is to mobilize the whole church into short term and long term mission opportunities. We design our programs for multi-generational teams that provide the opportunity for all ages to interact in worship and service with established ministries within local communities and internationally.

We are eager to meet you whether it is during the annual provincial pastors' retreats, church visits, over coffee in your community or here at in our Abbotsford office on the Columbia Bible College campus.

Local Churches Working Together for Global Impact

Amid the mountains, sea, and forests of British Columbia, 111 Mennonite Brethren Churches comprised of 18,241 members (2005) are engaged in reaching their generation for Jesus Christ.  Many communities in British Columbia are attracting new immigrants from all over the world especially from Asia.  In Vancouver, for example, 51% of the population’s mother tongue is not English.  A number of our MB Churches are reaching people for the Lord across this kaleidoscope of people groups.
There is great potential for individuals from various countries who have become followers of Jesus in Canada to go back to their countries of origin on MBMS International Short Term Missions or as long term missionaries.  They have the language, culture, family and friends “back home” who need the Lord.

MBMS International wants to facilitate this strategic potential for people reconnecting with their homelands to engage in various levels of holistic church planting that transforms communities among the least reached back home. MBMS International is eager to work with pastors and churches in exploring ways to reconnect their people through Short-Term missions to homelands where MBMSI is currently working.  Please contact MBMS International if this concept is also resonating in your heart.

We are also increasingly aware that church groups are asking for ways to make an impact globally.  We know you want to send people from your church family to connect with the missionaries you support.  We hear of families asking to go together with their children to bless other families.  We understand young adults continue to go anywhere and do anything the Lord is asking of them.   Many churches recognize the inspiration in their congregation that results from sending multi-generational teams out for a few weeks, led by a pastor or key mission leader.

That said, many do not realize that our dynamic long term missionaries are asking for teams to do medical work, construction projects, evangelism outreaches, prayer ministry, and teaching to list a few.  They know the local impact an MB church team from British Columbia can have on their neighborhoods. Through these teams MBMS International missionaries can build relational bridges with the churches that send, support and pray for them.  Our goal is to help make this happen.  Here on our website, you can find more information on ways your church can get involved.
