MBMS International. Transforming Lives In Mission

*Needed: $4,500 (USD)
This project subsidizes leaders with study and reference material and help defray cost to attend conferences and workshops.  It also provides lay leaders in European MB churches with subsidized study materials - books, tapes, CDs and reference materials.

 The areas for leadership development are character, competencies and team chemistry.

Support Maliki and his family as he works with the Bergens to translate scripture into his native language, Nanerige. 

When Maliki first came to the Bergen's to help with the translations, he was not a Christian.  Over the years of working closely with God's Word, he was touched by the Spirit of God and became a follower of Jesus.  Maliki was recently baptised at the first baptism to be held in that area.

Funds for this project support an evangelistic outreach into disadvantaged areas, serving the children and youth of that district. Up to 100 children attend weekly. Some activities include weekly evangelistic Kid's Club teaching Bible lessons and supplying a meal; weekly community outreach to parents and seniors teaching on finance, family, health; gardening training where neighbors are taught the basics on how to plant trees and gardens;  Staff discipleship training: training the staff to be effective and real in their Christian life.

Some renovations are needed this year as the current building is not adequate anymore with the fierce winters in this area.

 Bomoyi Ya Sika (BYS) is Lingala for "Home of New Life" which the originators have aptly named this ministry.    There are literally hundreds of children living on the streets of Kinshasa, DR Congo's capital.

This ministry reaches out to abandoned children by providing a home, education, healthcare and clothing. The goal is to reconnect these children to their own parents or, failing that, to connect them to stable foster families.  The very little ones are taken into foster care by the Batele MB Church members, and the older ones live at Mercy Home.  Great effort is going into providing vocational training for older children to enable them to live as productive members of their society. They have recently purchased a large house made possible by your generous donations, which affords them more room to bring more children into the Mercy Home.

 $35 a month by 50 donors would provide the amount currently needed to run Mercy Home, $1750 per month.   Please pray that these children would live a life walking with Jesus.

Support for Andrew and Olga Pritzkau in Berlin, serving as a Pastoral couple in the Berlin church plant.

The Berlin church has just moved into their recently purchased facility.  Extensive renovations are currently underway to turn this old building into a community centre and church facility where outreach into the unbelieving neighborhood could electrify the people for Jesus.

Evangelical Bible Institute, Leadership Development project disciples and trains future leaders.  This project supports bursaries/scholarships, seminars, administration costs, and text books.  EBI offers a 6 year distance education non-formal theological education (bachelor level) in Ginkaunai.  Students mostly work while studying which means they need to spread their education out over many years.  

About one third of the students are pastors who have approximately 10 years of pastoral experience and now see the need to have a stronger Theological foundation for their ministry.  EBI has 8 Lithuanian and 4 German teachers, and 3 administration staff.

EBI has recently been accepted into the Bachelor Accreditation Program by EAAA.  They provide the only interdenominational evangelical theological education in Lithuania and in the Lithuanian language.

This project supports 4 church plants in Klaipeda, Alytus, Vilnius, and Silute.  The four pastors are being partially supported.  Alytus is a new church plant in a city of 70,000 people. 

The goal is for these churches to eventually be totally self-supporting.  Vilnius and Klaipeda are well on their way and should be self-supporting within 2 years, but Silute and Alytus are still struggling and will need support for a longer time.

Your  donations assist with special projects for the betterment of the local ministry at RETO church plant where the Matthew Team is involved, and Alfredo and Sandra Beltran, MBMSI missionaries, are a pastor couple. 

Your donations would be used to help this church plant pay conference fees, train new leaders, and support of some of its workers.  It is their goal to reach an attendance of 200 people with strong leaders, pastors, and tithers so the church would be self-supporting.

This fund supports the new missionary training center as it starts in Guadalajara, Mexico. The purpose of this ministry will be to train Latinos for missions, and to train interns from Colleges in North America who want to test out their gifts or calling in another culture. Funds are needed to equip the training center, and to help subsidize Latinos who want to come and be equipped for cross cultural training.  The first cross cultural training program began in September 2008 and will, for the time being, function out of the home of Trever and Joan Godard, where they have a large training room for this purpose.

The present need is for the training program to help subsidize Latinos ($5,000).  Currently, Paula Reyes from Colombia is the student that MBMSI is helping to support.  Your contribution would help with this support and those who follow.

Jackie was one of the MBMSI scholarship students studying in Paraguay.  She returned to Peru in 2007 and is working along with the MBMSI missionaries at the Lima RETO church.  She is mostly involved with youth, children, and the music team, but also helping in other congregations of the Peruvian MB Conference.

With this fund, MBMSI is contributing $100 per month to the support she is given by the churches and the Conference.

This is the Church Planters Help Fund.  The fund is used to evangelise and disciple the families of Ambiong, Baguio City, and integrate these families to the Ambiong MB Church.  They want to reach out and plant new local churches in the least reached communities within a 15 Km. radius of the city.

It is expected the Ambiong MB Church will become self-supporting within the next year and they are anxious to plant sister churches.  Recent history shows that this is the way of things in this area - a church becomes self-supporting and immediately plants a sister church, mentors and assists it until it too is self-supporting, and then this church plants a sister church, and so on.  Praise God, there are great things happening in the Philippines.

For several years this fund has supported the Baguio Youth Centre which it is still doing.  By the end of 2008 the Youth Centre base will be transferred to the Ambiong MB Church where they assist the church to evangelize and mentor the youth of the Ambiong Community.

This project helps with monthly rent payments and maintenance of the MB Church in Durban. This project also supports a newly opened daycare and a ladies sewing center which provide employment for the church members.

Since the focus of the church in Durban is to the immigrants from surrounding countries who have fled their war-torn homeland, the church members are struggling financially.  There is also a significant transient population here as people look for work, so the church membership numbers move up and down accordingly.  Little help to support this church is available locally.

 This past year, Pastor Nsulunka, MBMSI missionary from DR Congo, has undertaken to learn Zulu so that he can reach out into the local Zulu population as well.  Without help to pay for the rent and maintenance for this church, it could not exist.  Thank you so all who have come along side this significant witness for Christ in a poor and unfortunate neighborhood.

Needed: $28,000 (USD)
This newly formed, rapidly growing church ministers to the AIDS community in the form of outreach evangelism, mentoring, and discipleship. Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters travel to the neighboring province where this church is located in order to minister there.  This church is growing rapidly!!

Bet L church just had a baptism this summer where 7 new believers were baptised!  Praise the Lord for this.  Also this summer, they were able to purchase a piece of land nearby and will soon be able to build a "Sala", or a bamboo gazebo, where they will have their services and Kid's Club.  The cell-church has grown so much that there isn't an available house in the neighborhood large enough to accommodate all the people. 

Bob & Chris Davis, MBMSI missionaries to Thailand  have recently moved into the area to minister in the Bet L Church.  (Sometimes referred to as Bethel Church)

TLC in Chonburi, started by Team 2000, is the hub of activity for the evangelistic work of the Team. Outreach to the community is realized through preaching, teaching, and training new Christians and future leaders of this new Thai congregation.

TLC also supports various social programs organized through the church, evangelistic outreach events, English language camps, and Thai pastoral support.

As a result of the phenominal church growth, they had to purchase a large tent this year which they erected on an empty lot beside the Life Center and where they now have their worship services.

Great strides are being made to train and mentor national leaders who will soon be able to keep the church and it's activities going and growing.

MBMSI missionaries continue to train and equip the Khmu leaders as they evangelize in their communities.  This fund helps to support the evangelists and buy supplies for them to carry out the work in the villages.  Monthly visits are being made into the Northern part of Thailand to resource these Khmu evangelists.

 It also provides leadership training and development, and funds Khmu Student Center where students live while attending high school.  The students come in from the villages to study and most of them have no previous Christian exposure.
