In this context the Fund encourages the development of local leadership and ability. An effective process results in long-lasting leadership that continues on after the project is finished.
The H&D Fund also encourages the involvement of North American Christians on a grassroots level: church-to-church, group-to-groups, person-to-person. The fund is not only a means of deriving funds, but also a means of involving people, sharing skills and encouraging each other.
This fund provides equipment and supplies to clinics, nursing schools, grade schools, and scholarships for nurses and doctors for further education.
