Participants will not know their assignment locations until they are in training. The assignment location is

determined by a number of factors including gift mix, experience, and where participants want to grow. Once the TREK Leadership team has entered into relationship with the participants, they will gather for an evening to prayerfully discern the assignment location that best suits each participant. This generally takes place two weeks into the training.
At times, TREKers have made special arrangements ahead of time to be sent out as individuals, but these are very special cases. This is not our preferred practice.
In the last three years alone, TREK has sent to teams to 13 locations on every continent except Antarctica.
The adventure of following Jesus is always exciting as our Lord leads us on a day to day progression of obedience. It is our desire that we would always follow our Lord's leading as he directs us in deciding a TREK assignment location. There are a number of factors that feed into these decisions, but ultimately we are seeking locations:
- where God is moving
- where the missionary hosts are excellent disciplers and leaders
- where TREK participants will grow and learn as they serve, disciple, and evangelize
Past TREK Teams have served in a wide variety of locations. Here are just a few examples:
Indonesia
Austria
Brazil
Burkina Faso
Columbia
DR Congo
Ecuador
Thailand
Germany
Portugal
India
MBMSI reserves the right to end a participant's TREK experience at any time. This is not a common practice; however, it does occur from time to time. Possible reasons for a decision of this nature could include personal issues, attitude, sin issues, mental health challenges, lack of finances, or a general sense that the TREK participant is not ready to participate in the assignment. TREK leadership would attempt to make this decision with the participant's church pastor and/or mentor. Please also note that MBMS International cannot return donations for any reason.
