Program Structure:
SOAR Vancouver is a 9-day mission program for teams of all ages. Teams from across North America will join together in the Greater Vancouver area for training, sleeping, eating, worshiping and debriefing together. Each team will be given a specific ministry assignment that will take the majority of each day of the assignment phase, somewhere in the Greater Vancouver area.
Program Dates:
February 13-21, 2010 (Olympic Winter Games)
- Orientation: February 13-14, 2010
- Assignment: February 15-19, 2010
- Debrief: February 20-21, 2010
Participant Requirements:
SOAR Vancouver is a multi-generational ministry opportunity. Churches can consider sending teams from their youth groups (minimum age 14, with at least one adult leader for every 5 youth participants), or putting together multi-generational teams or several families. Individuals are also welcome to apply, and will be placed on a larger team.
Program Cost (for non-Vancouver residents):
$425 CAD/USD per person, plus additional costs. The $425 includes lodging, breakfast, lunch, training and ministry materials. MBMSI asks that you cover the following costs on your own:
-transportation to and from Vancouver
-supper for the 5 days of the ministry assignment
-transportation from our central lodging location to your ministry site (Vancouver public transit is very accessible, or you can plan to drive a rental vehicle
Program Cost (for Vancouver residents):
$150 CAD per person. This includes two days of training, debrief, ministry materials and a More Than Gold backpack and hat. You are responsible for:
-transportation
-food
-lodging
